What you will learn
When designing this course, I began with the essentials in mind, knowing how daunting the world of wine can be. I wanted to ensure that, from the get-go, you'd feel the confidence and excitement that comes from truly understanding the complexities of wine. Each session is crafted with a blend of rich history, practical know-how exploration, all laid out in an easy-to-digest format. We'll start with the vineyard basics, venture into the art of tasting, and navigate the nuances of pairing, ensuring you're equipped with knowledge that goes beyond just reds and whites. I will guide you step-by-step, so you'll find yourself swiftly becoming conversant in the language of wine, ready to impress friends and enjoy your newfound appreciation to the fullest.
I wanted to speak to the person who enjoyed wine but often found themselves sitting at tables with clients or in rooms with associates and friends who seemed well-versed in it but didn’t have the 'experience' or knowledge to feel comfortable speaking about wine. Perhaps you’ve been the person standing in the wine aisle, overwhelmed by the options and taking too long to make a decision, only to walk away not confident about what you’ve selected. It was important to connect the lessons with individuals who were once like me. I was that person who had no interest in hearing big wine vocabulary and descriptions of processes that couldn’t be explained in layman’s terms. Starting with the four key components of the winemaking process is a great starting point. so, if all you know is how to pour wine into your glass, you're at the right place!
You’ve made a decision to educate yourself at a pace that is comfortable for you, with me here to assist you as you gain confidence in your wine walk and talk, all while having a great time. My connection to this course is rooted in a deep-seated passion for sharing the world of wines. I want to teach everyone that wine is more than just a beverage; it is a cultural experience that bridges history and geography. I’m excited for this opportunity to demystify the complexities of wine tasting and selection and open up a new realm of taste and knowledge for my students. I hope my enthusiasm for wine is infectious, and my commitment to educating you is both informative and fulfilling, leaving you with a greater appreciation for the subtleties of this amazing drink.

I'm Tatiana Obasohan, and I'm excited to have you here! My journey with wine began in 2017. By early 2020, I realized I needed to define this journey, my relationship with wine, and what intrigued me about it. My passion and love for wine culture led me to get educated in wine and earn my WSET certification.
Today, I am a winemaker and educator specializing in Grape Varietal Exploration. As I go from the vineyard to the cellar, I discover more every day about wine science and its production. My career in wine is rooted in my humility in knowing that I will never know it all because wine is just too vast, so I will forever be a student of the vine.
I delight in the art of winemaking and conduct wine tastings that showcase the intricate flavors and stories behind each bottle. Any bottle of wine or grape variety that I recommend, I can assure you that I’ve done my due diligence on its history and will bridge the gap between its oenology and viniculture in an enjoyable and welcoming way.
My goal is to share my knowledge, educate, and expose you to new and familiar grape varieties as you learn about the journey from grape to glass. Cheers!
